One Quarter Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Not taken
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1453
    BP:  146/69
    Pulse:  56

It was probably a mistake to try to take her BP today, too, but I did it anyway. You can see the results. She was animated and talkative through the whole procedure. I was annoyed, and showed it. Still, her diastolic looks awfully good.
    Breakfast: Back to completely normal.
Lunch: V-8 juice with 1 tsp Maharajah curry and a mixture of peanuts and cashews.
Dinner: Just Dessert dinner of half a Vegan gingersnap, half of what was left of the fresh apple/pecan mixture I made and ice cream. Oh, yeah. And, I think, I didn't take her BG before dinner. We were catching up on The L Word, again.
Only two glipizide, today, usual times. Three lisinopril, though.
For some reason, I'm thinking that I remember a bowel movement, but I can't be sure.
She retired at 0015, 1/7/06. Light out at 0030. However, she was up again, twice, last time down 0145. Both times she claimed not to have slept was was clearly weary the second time up. I asked if she wanted to stay up and watch TV or read for awhile, since I was going to be up for "another hour or so", but she declined.

BM Half Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1404
    Reading:  160
Blood Pressure:
    Not taken

P.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2031
    Reading:  116
Blood Pressure:
    Not taken

This was a "recovery" day for her, after visit, although the visit ended this morning. It was also an "after the storm" day, because the pressure continued to bounce.
Breakfast: Normal, except for the substitution of Pangea Bakery's Raisin Cinnamon Swirl bread with extra Vietnamese cinnamon.
Lunch: I wasn't very hungry, neither was she, I wasn't sure what would happen about dinner, so I served her a peanut/cashew mix and V-8 juice with 1 tsp Marajah curry powder.
Dinner: Sort of. A bowl full of two drained cans of mandarin oranges for Mom. That's what she wanted and it satisfied her.
Her Bowel Movement occurred around 1700: Good volume; slightly smeary consistency; very easy elimination; challenging clean-up.
She retired early at 2230. Her light went out at 2300. Then, between "Light Out" and about 0300, she was up, in the bathroom, urinating (which is good, she was losing some minor fluid retention, I noticed, without the aid of diueretics ). She complained, third time up, that she hadn't yet slept. I wasn't surprised.

Three Quarter Stat Day:

A.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  1129
    Reading:  136
A.M. Blood Pressure:
    Time:  1138
    BP:  155/73
    Pulse:  54

P.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2015
    Reading:  176
Blood Pressure:
    Not taken

Even though I took a casual vow that I would not stat, today, I did, anyway. The BP was clearly a mistake. MPS was already here, they had a "delighted" reunion as Mom awoke, about which you can read over at the main journal for this date, Mom was, of course, in a hurry to get up, get bathed, get dressed, why I chose to take her BP I'll never know, but I did, so I'm recording it. Yes, she continues to receive three 10 mg lisinopril per day.
Breakfast: Normal, with the substitution of Pangea Bakery's Raisin Cinnamon Swirl toast with extra Vietnamese cinnamon.
Lunch: Damn, I'm trying to remember, writing this two days hence: Could be that we lunch-munched our way through a variety of goodies, although I don't remember much eating that afternoon. Oh, yeah. Popcorn, with extra butter, and a movie. Thus, the dinner BG didn't surprise me. She received her second glipizide during the popcorn "lunch".
Dinner: Bone-in ribs roasted in a Hoisin-based barbeque sauce and my own cole slaw. Yes, Virginia, there was dessert, following quickly on the heels of the dinner (during which my mother had her third 10 mg glipizide of the day): An freshly stewed apple/pecan/spice concoction over a piece of a vegan ginger cookie, topped with Baskin Robbins ice cream.
Although the day wasn't particularly active, she was up a lot and MPS slept a lot, so, you know, one way or another someone was always sleeping, except me.
No one stayed up to savor the visit. Mom retired halfway through the second L Word episode, at 2330. Her light went out at midnight, 1/5/07.

BM Quarter Stat Day:

Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2121
    Reading:  115
Blood Pressure:
    Not taken

    Breakfast: Normal, just very late.
Lunch: Peanuts, V-8 juice w/curry powder.
Dinner: Tuna sandwiches on Dark Bavarian Sweet Wheat [or some such nonsense] with MCS's bread & butter pickles.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at 1900 straight up, right after her nap: Very good volume; somewhat smeary consistency; very easy elimination; somewhat challenging clean-up.
She hasn't been moving much, I've been allowing her to sleep in, waaay in today, I think she awoke at 1430, something like that. I can see the effects of catering to this lethargy in her movements, which have become a bit more unsure. No unusual complaints about her knees or back, though. Again, last night, I addressed the possibility of her becoming less mobile and how she'd feel about it.
    Once again, she said, "Fine."
    Big sigh. Oh well.
Retired at probably about 0015, 1/4/07. Light out at 0040.

BM Quarter Stat Day:

P.M. Blood Glucose:
    Time:  2107
    Reading:  128
Not taken

Today was an extremely relaxed day. In the "morning", I started checking her at noon but let her go. Around 1430 or so, I think it's recorded over at the main journal site, I started talking to her. Got her to the bathroom, began preparing everything that happens around her bath and before I knew it she was back in bed. I think she finally arose around 1530, as we were at the "breakfast" table by 1630.
And, yes, she even took a nap, although I'm used to this heavy duty sleep day nap routine, now. The "nap" usually only lasts about a half hour and doesn't involve sleep. I think she lays down to straighten her back out.
I forgot to administer her meds again last night; the third iron and lisinopril. I think she'll live, though.
She had a typical lunch of V-8 juice with 1 tsp curry powder and a mixture of peanuts and cashews maybe two hours before her BG was taken.
For dinner I served, oh yeah, broiled-in-basil-butter-and-lemon-juice salmon filets. And slices of jalapeno Jack cheese. That's all we wanted.
Her Bowel Movement occurred at around 1545: Good volume; excellent consistency; very easy elimination; very easy clean-up.
She didn't make it through all of The L Word last night. She begged off the second episode. It didn't matter, I wasn't really watching it anyway. I realize, now, though, that I forgot to rubdown her legs.
    Must do her hair today.
Retired at 2330. Light out at 0000, 1/3/07.

No Stats Today:

No devices of torture. No water torture. No trying to keep Mom up when she wants to sleep. Just a very easy day.
Breakfast: Normal, except she wanted a sweet roll so I thawed and heated one of those apple dumpling rolls for her.
    Lunch: Coffee.
Dinner: One bag microwave popcorn with 1/2 stick butter and V-8 juice with 1 tsp Maharajah curry powder (with saffron).
I guess we'll find out today if she got enough food and water. Received two 10 mg glipizides with breakfast. Forgot to administer the third lisinopril and iron at bedtime, though.
Stayed up through both L Word catch-up episodes. Retired at 0015, 1/2/07. Light went out at 0045.
