Medication Changes: Extra glipizide late in the evening. My mother had announced, before her nap, that her "sweet tooth is screaming". I had to visit the grocery during her nap to pick up some needed staples and a few dinner things, so I picked up a brownie mix MPS had made when she and her daughter were here last week that Mom had particularly liked. I waited to make it until she announced, a little after dinner, again, that she wondered if "we have anything sweet around." The brownies were served, after being freshly baked, at about 2230. I gave her the glipizide, without needing to check her blood glucose, just before she popped the first spoonful of brownie with French Vanilla ice cream a la mode into her mouth.
I purposely added Ipratroprium to her third breathing treatment tonight, as well, because she was having trouble coughing sputum up; not a lot of trouble, but enough to bother her.
Dinner: Aside from dessert she had a thigh/leg quarter of a roasted chicken, a hefty three quarter's cup of Brussels sprouts with Greek Feta Vinaigrette dressing and about a half cup of seasoned long grain and wild rice.
