Bowel Movement: Occurred during bathing. Good volume; excellent consistency; easy elimination; easy clean-up.
Medication Change: Gave her 650 mg of acetaminophen with her breakfast. She complained of a lower back ache the previous night but didn't want anything before bed, believing, as usually happens, that the back ache would resolve itself while she slept, since it's usually from the way she stands when she brushes her teeth before bed. However, she slept very weird, that night, flung off the wedge with her back arched and her head cocked back, and awoke with the same back-ache about which she complained. I offered her the acetaminophen, clarifying that I thought the "extra strength" dose would be appropriate, and she agreed. As far as I know, it eradicated her back ache.
Dinner: Tonight was "Celebrate Champagne" night. We had an appetizer dinner consisting of a variety of meats and cheeses on multi-grain saltine crackers, a variety of pickles, including Bread & Butter pickles, and some beefed up potato salad to which I'd added chopped onion and capers. As well, she had a glass of Champagne equally probably 6 oz., and three Ghiradelli chocolate squares for dessert.
Miscellaneous Note: I attempted to take her blood pressure before bed, as Hospice had suggested after having alcoholic beverages. She was so irritated with me, though, for taking it, that she would not relax, insisted on talking and moving throughout, her arm was as tight as a drum. I've recorded the first BP above, which is unbelievably high. The second time the cuff registered "E[rror]". So, I gave up and gave her the usual dose of lisinopril.
