P.M. Blood Glucose: Time: 1943 Reading: 168 |
Medication Changes:
- Administered 500 mg acetaminophen with breakfast to ward off any possible knee or back inflammation from her "cleaning out the drawers" episode this morning
- 2.5 mg metaclopramide before dinner because she's showing many of the signs of experiencing some acute something-'er-other: Feet and leg edema (very pronounced, for her, this evening); severe leaning to the right; mental haziness which translates, as well, to difficulty finding words; more difficulty than usual supporting herself on her legs; significant right eye edema and some left eye edema. I'm not sure what she's experiencing, yet, and, if it passes without any more emergent episodes, I may not know, but, just in case, I figured, when she's in this state, although her appetite is rarely affected, it's not uncommon for her to vomit later in the evening. I wanted to nip that possibility in the bud.
- Gave her slightly less than 20 mg furosemide before she went to bed, because her leg and feet edema is unusual, for her, and I figured, it would be a good idea to get her to shed that water NOW. I usually give her 10 mg, but that is for episodes less severe and that have come on less quickly than this. The reason I say, "slightly less than 20 mg" is because I gave her two halves that weren't quite half, on purpose.
Dinner: 1/4 dark meat roast chicken; about 1/2 cup Brussels sprouts with Greek Feta dressing; about 3/4 cup Uncle Ben's Original Recipe Long Grain & Wild Rice; for dessert, a scoop of lemon sorbet and wild berry gelato.
Sleep:
- Awoke at 1130
- Down for nap at 1530
- Up from nap at 1930
- In bed for night at 2345
- Awake 8.25 hours
